One of my readers, Brandi, sent me this article. It's intended to encourage exercise, but in it was a funny statement that she pointed out to me,
"A little bit of exercise goes a long way," said Peter Kokkinos, lead author of the study. "Thirty minutes a day, five days a week of brisk walking is likely to reduce the risk of mortality by 50 percent if not more."
Wow! And I thought the risk of mortality was still 100%. Amazing what a little research will do.

What's the old cliche... eat right, exercise regularly, die anyway...
They always say that this or that will take years off of your life, but they never point off that it takes them off from the end. If eating bacon is going to cause me to lose year 89 or 90 I'm not too concerned. If I were to lose, like, year 25 and just skip straight from 24 to 26, that would be a bit disconcerting.
I also liked this quote:
"In the least fit group, 44 percent died; for moderately fit, 30 percent; highly fit, 15 percent; and very highly fit, 8 percent."
NOW, that article is "laugh out loud" FUNNY!
