Different economies

Today I'm beginning to feel a little better. It sure takes a while! During a time of recovery there is also all the mood swings that go with something like this. It's a great time for me to realign my thinking with the way God looks at things, and I hope to do that through the week. Here are just a few verses that I'm starting with-

Isa 55:8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.

1Co 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Luk 16:15 And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.

1Pe 2:4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God,

Pro 8:11 "For wisdom is better than jewels; And all desirable things cannot compare with her.

God's economic system is so different than ours. He values things the world doesn't. He looks at things differently than we do, so this week I want to take some time and begin to get my economies straightened out....I would like to get my values aligned with what God thinks is important....that and recovery from surgery would be a great week!

Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery my friend. I like the direction you are going with using this as an opportunity to grow spiritually. We sometimes need periods in our lives where we are thrown into the unknown and out of our comfort zones so that we can see things with a different perspective. One thing to practice in times like these is to shut down the mind and stop over thinking and analyzing everything, everyone, and every situation. As powerful and awesome as our brain is, it can get in the way.

Instead, try to just experience the moment for what it is, no judgments, no planning, no nothing. Take in each precious moment. Don’t think your way through anything, rather feel your way.

Sincerely,
Your mystic friend

Dearest Brother Mike!
Amazing how life changes in a twinkling, isn't it? Ladders or not, I don't think we're meant to reach up high!!
I never would have thought you'd feel good enough, or have the ability (laptop), or that you'd be clear headed enough, (with painkillers!) to blog! How great for you to have this positive way to fill your time!
But it didn't enter my head that you'd be doing this, so I'm late in adding my notice of prayers for you.
And, I'm so sorry to welcome you to the land of "gimps and bionic parts". But I found, when in a similar situation, that the worst time of my life was the closest I've ever drawn to our Lord, and the most I've ever grown spiritually. It seems in your blogs this week that He's brought His words and promises to your heart in a deeper way, too, just as He did for me.
When others visit or write, you will see God's face in every person, I know; God reminding you of His love through the love from others.
Isn't it exciting to think of how He will be molding you through this incident?
I notice you hang true to your nature even in adversity, Mike. You are rock solid with your faith and the Lord Jesus shines through you. I'm thankful to know you and learn under you.
Love in Christ and "lotsa" prayers, too,
KarenK
