The old saying, "when it rains, it pours" sure applies now. These are difficult days. I think everyone knows someone who has lost their job, their home or their retirement fund. The very foundations we have trusted have been shaken. It's a fearful time.

It's also a great time to emulate the early church and their care for one another in time of need. All through the book of Acts I read about the giving of those who have extra to those who don't have enough. What a great example for us today. Instead of just taking care of me and mine this is a time for us to demonstrate the love of Christ for one another by opening our lives and sharing our excess with those who don't have enough. What a great opportunity we have to demonstrate the love of God to those around us.
