It's the 4th of July. Independence day. Independence from the rule of another country. The establishment of freedom for all. One nation under God. It's a celebration of liberty, but liberty that isn't watched soon fades. When we lose the courage to claim our independence in each generation it slowly evaporates and we once more come under tyranny.
I pray for our country that we would value freedom gained by others and not take it lightly. It's easy to lose something priceless and not even realize its worth until it's gone.
Today, I'm thankful to be in a free country. I am praying for this country that we might, as a nation, be drawn into the freedom that comes in Christ alone.
