I'm commenting here on your Lewis quote which eludes to the other side of the issue, which I also believe. I'm glad I'm a Christian.
It seems to me that for all the evangelising done to advance Christianity, there is a ton of anti-evangelism done that drags it down. These days,we should have people lining up to choose our religion. Recognizing the problems is the first step toward correcting them and if we all do our part to direct one another to honesty and truth, we can be of influence.
