Help....

Psalm 121
A song of ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
 My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.
 He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

"My help comes from the Lord."

What a great hope, what a great promise.  I'm memorizing this chapter because it's so important to my life and the way I see things.  It's profound in its impact and promise.

"The Lord will..."

This chapter is rich with promise, but what caught my eye is God's promise to watch over me, to keep me, to help me.  This is a rich promise of care from God.  It's rich with promise of help from God.  I love that...I love the words that promise personal attention and care by the creator God himself.  He made heaven and earth and he will watch over you.  In other words, if he has the power to make everything he can take care of you, he can take care of me...and he will!

This morning I'm feeding on these rich promises of care, of love, of attention, of help...I'm feeding on the love of God.  I'm thankful that the God who made everything will care for me, for you.  I'm thankful that he is watching and that he cares about us!
